Week 2 – Audiovision

Hello, world! My name is Zac Preaudet-Sartori, and I would like to formally welcome you to my Audiovision blog!

I am an up and coming sound designer for film, TV, and games. I create sound effects and original compositions, mainly in a classical style, however i have been experimenting with the techno/industrial/schranz genres. My strengths rely in post production (editing, mixing, mastering and creating/editing sound effects), but I would jump at the opportunity to work on scores for film and TV. I play multiple instruments, trumpet is my main instrument (I am a part of the Naturally Cool Big Band, and have been for 8 years!), but I also dabble in guitar, bass, piano and attempting the drums.

I chose Audiovision as my studio as I am an articulant from the Advanced Diploma of Music (Sound Design), and it is something I have been passionate about for many years. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realised that sound could actually be a viable career, and so I decided to jump straight into the deep end and work on making audio my career! As I stated before, my skills are mainly in creation and post production of recordings, but this year I would really like to further my compositional skills as an artist, and work on my own music alongside undertaking this bachelor degree.

Today we experimented with Kontakt 12, and started to get a hands on feel with it. Our task today was to create a short composition utilising some sounds that we liked. Here is mine!

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to keeping you all updated with my progress!
