Week 4 – Rhythm

Another week, another bit of music theory! This week we focused on rhythm in songs and scores, and how when paired with vision it can create moments of tension and unease. For our exercise today, we had free reign in making something, as long as we used some of the skills from the previous weeks. I decided to use the chords tool, and made a very cheesy, 2008-sounding “song of the summer” inspired by the likes of Avicii and David Guetta.

This was not my intention for it to sound so corporate, however I thought it was too funny to not keep developing. It reminds me a little of an early Apple ad, or something you’d hear in a Kmart or Target ad. This was probably the most fun exercise I undertook, and definitely got the creative juices flowing. I look forward to using some of these skills in my own work in future!

See you next week!
